Dark World Player Plot || OOC/Sign-ups
The Dark World Plot Log is up. Sign-ups are Closed.
There are 16 characters in the Wisdom Dungeon, 18 in the Power Dungeon and 22 in the Courage Dungeon (each dungeons will have sub-divisions to make threading easier).
Hey there everyone, it's been a while since Ganondorf tried to take over the Tower and the Multiverse-- Too long actually, so here he is about to try again. The King of Evil is going to curse ten floors of this tower and make them into the "Dark World": An evil and twisted version of what the tower normally is. The cursed floors will be linked together by teleportation dales and will form a dungeon in classic Legend of Zelda tradition. Complete with having to solve puzzles before fighting a boss and finally collecting a Pendant.
To make sure his other plan goes as planned (he has a team trying to infiltrate the administrative floors), Ganon will attempt to trap residents in the cursed floors. Characters signing up to be trapped in the Dark World will basically have to play the role of the Hero of Legend. Go through the dungeon, solve the puzzles, combat the monsters and free the tower from Ganondorf's curse. It is impossible to enter or exit the Dark World at will-- The curse has to be broken or Ganondorf has to be killed.
Ganon will not directly oversee the Dark World-- Doctor Edward Richtofen is the "administrator" of the cursed floors and is free to be as horrible as he wants since he has control over the Dark World. Riku Replica [OU] is the "container" of the Dark World Curse that keeps the floors cursed and may have to be fought too. Ganon may be fought after this to end the Dark World. This player plot is entirely opt-in and will run from March 1st to March 5th but will affect characters signing-up only on the 4th and 5th March.
• Cursed Floors and Entrance
Ten floors will be concerned and will be unavailable to characters not affected by the plot from March 1st to 5th. Characters signing up will be trapped in these floors and will be able to explore them on the 4th and 5th of March. All the other floors of the tower will be normal and totally unaffected. What the floors look like while cursed will be detailed during the plot. The following floors are affected:
6, 7, 8, 12, 62, 65, 68, 70, 73 and 79.
Characters signing-up to go through the Dark World may simply be present on the floor when Ganondorf curses it. If not, then they will be taken into it forcefully in one of three ways:
- They find one of the black doors leading into the cursed floors. If they are out of luck, they will see a creepy black hand extending out of from the door and dragging them in.
- A floormaster/wallmaster may grab them wherever they are in the tower, and cast them into the Dark World. Floormasters and Wallmasters are gigantic hands that come out from either the floor or the ceiling and take characters to another part of the tower.
- Ganondorf personally teleports them in using his powers (mostly directed to those he sees as a threat).
• Quick Overview
All the characters will start out on the Dark Forest (6th Floor). Having been given control over the cursed floors, Richtofen can pop-up anytime and be a monumental pain to the trapped characters. Ganondorf on his hand, will be waiting outside of the Dark World tending toinfiltrating the administrative floors other business. However Ganondorf may be fought as well once all of the Dark World will have been explored.
The other floors of the Dark World are divided into three dungeon: The Death Mountain (Power), The Palace of Darkness (Courage) and The Water Temple (Wisdom). To this is added a fourth area, "Richtofen's Lab". As they walk in the forest, characters will magically end up in one of the three dungeon of the Dark World.
Which dungeon they walk in and get to explore depends on what virtue define them best: Wisdom, Courage or Power. Then they'll have to solve the puzzles and traps of the dungeon they're going through, with a boss battle at the end of each area. Upon completing their dungeon, characters will find themselves in Richtofen's Lab.
• Dungeons Overview
This is only a quick overview of what each of the three dungeons will be like, there will be more detailed explanations and description during the plot itself. To reach the Core of the Curse, meet the one who holds the curse (Riku Replica) and bring about an end to the Dark World, three Pendants need to be found; The Pendant of Power, the Pendant of Courage and the Pendant of Wisdom. They can be obtained by completing each of the three dungeons, and have to be used in Richtofen's Lab.
The Water Temple (Wisdom Dungeon)
Floors Seven, Sixty-Two and Seventy-Nine
This is the dungeon of the dark world that embodies Wisdom. It is the most complicated one with lots of puzzles that could make anyone go crazy. As the title explicitly state, this dungeon will revolve mostly around the element of Water. Knowing how to swim is a definite plus as most of the dungeon will happen underwater. By comparison, this is the dungeon with the less amount of monsters to fight. The Boss Battle will be Soul Aquatic, Morph-Âme, based on the boss known as Morpha
The Death Mountain (Power Dungeon)
Floor Sixty-Five and Sixty-Eights
This is the dungeon of the dark world that embodies Power. It's the shortest of the three dungeons, but the one with the toughest enemies and harshest environmental conditions. Unlike the Water Temple, no complicated puzzles here. Surviving however, is a lot harder. The Boss Battle will be Soul Dragon, Almargorok, based on the boss known as Argorok
The Palace of Darkness (Courage Dungeon)
Floor Eight and Seventy-Three
This is the dungeon of the dark world that embodies Courage. On top of the Boss Battle, each characters going through this dungeon will have to duel with their Dark Self (see what Dark Link is to Link, an evil reflection of your character). They will be alone to battle their dark self and the shadow will know all the same moves and attack they do. Aside from this, this dungeon is the most balanced one between puzzles and enemies to fight. The Boss Battle in common for all characters going through this dungeon will be Soul Beast, Seele Molgera, based on the boss known as Molgera.
Richtofen's Laboratory
Floor Seventy
When all three dungeons have been defeated, the characters will reunite in a penultimate area where they will be able to face Richtofen a last time. It's a total surprise and Richtofen himself took care of making this floor into a part of the dark world, so you may want to expect Zombies. The Boss here, of course, will be Usurper Administrator, Richtofen.
After this, character may reach the Core of the Curse where Riku Replica is, and maybe fight him to end the curse if he cannot be reasoned with. If all else fail they may be able to find where Ganon hides- And bring about an end to the dark world.
• Sign-Ups
Note, while all the characters may return from this plot safe and unharmed, there is a strong possibility they may get harmed at some point, maybe even killed. The Dark World is a dangerous place and team work will be necessary.

QUESTIONS
Re: QUESTIONS
So, the Abyss redheads have a telepathic connection that's known to work between floors in the Tower. Luke's going in, Asch is staying out - would anything prevent them from being able to communicate while Luke's in there?
And similarly, is it alright with you if they work as a set of human walkie-talkies to share information about what's going on inside with those still outside? Since Asch will be pretty much camping a terminal to relay messages from Luke to everyone on the network :3

If Dark Pit and Pit both end up in Courage (which would be fitting for both of them), how would the duel with the 'dark self' work since they basically are each other's 'other halves'?

Re: QUESTIONS
well, Chloe is basically a villain, no matter how you shake a stick at it. Would it be odd for her to meet her 'other self' and it be the 'good Chloe?' attempting to protect the guardian from her?

Re: QUESTIONS

A bit belated....
1. Am I correct in assuming that it's impossible for characters inside the Dark World to teleport themselves out of it, and vice versa? How about between different parts of the Dark World- ie, retreating back to the Forest from one of the dungeon areas?
2. Is the Dark World an extraplanar space/demiplane?

..and now I have more questions
