Event: Rebellion; Sign Ups
Residents of the Tower may have noticed, over the last couple of days, that a few of the worker units with chipped collars have made their way into the residential levels of the Tower. They are much more prone to attempting to help the residents avoid death, giving them detailed warnings about jobs, being more gentle about collar checkups, and explaining to new residents that they have to eat the oatmeal first. Just after midnight on April 8, Jason can be heard over the intercom:
"All worker units report to the administrative levels for emergency maintenance."
All worker units are gone from the residential levels of the Tower for three hours. When they return, none of the visible worker units have chipped collars. But, as the week goes on, the worker units begin acting odd, and various residents begin disappearing...
It seems Jason made a bit of a miscalculation (or maybe it was intentional...), and now the worker units are acting strange. Some of them do nothing at all, standing in corners and staring at walls. Some do everything far more rapidly than any human should be able to move, making them look wildly unnatural. Some are hostile to residents of the Tower, ranging from simply ignoring them to actively attempting to kill them. And occasionally the retrieval units show up and drag someone away, down into the infirmary behind a locked, impenetrable door, for no apparent reason.
One character per player may participate in this plot. Those who sign up will vanish from the Tower at some point this week (the time is up to you; you can have them vanish as soon as you sign up or wait until the last day before the plot begins), having been dragged to the infirmary by the retrieval units. They will be subject to brainwashing and surgical modification before being released back into the Tower acting--well, different.
The following options are available for the modification:
Group A: The mystery option. This group is subject to the most intense modification and brainwashing, and this option is likely to be the most traumatic. Only seven characters will be chosen for this group.
Group B: This group will be turned into something similar to retrieval units. This group is subject to intense modification and brainwashing, second only to group A.
Group C: This group will be turned into something similar to an advanced worker unit, such as the ones which work in the processing center of the Tower. This group will be subject to moderate modification and brainwashing.
Group D: This group will be turned into something similar to a basic worker unit, such as the ones which work in the residential areas of the Tower. This group will be subject to mild modification and brainwashing.
If you would like your character to be chosen for one of these groups, please fill out this form and place it in a reply to this comment. Note that you cannot specifically request group A--because this group is limited, we will be randomly selecting characters from those who request the possibility.
You have until 12:01AM April 14 to sign up for this event! The event itself will take place from the 15th to the 19th.

If so, would it be all right if I still asked for Group A and backlogged when I got back or would you prefer someone who can be active this weekend be in it?

Will the effects of them just not be apparent (or at least not fully apparent) until the event actually starts?

2. How do the effects "end" (that is, when the 20th rolls around, do the effects just wear off, or do the characters have to go in for re-modification)?
3. Will there be any physical effects that our characters can feel after the experiment is over?
4. Will our characters have memories of what happened while they were brainwashed, or no?
EDIT: Whoops, thought of another one. 5. How exactly should our characters act? So if they're in D, they can still hold basic conversation, but if they're in B, they might just be focused on a particular task or doing nothing at all? Will we be told what they can/can't do?

2. They will be re-modified (or un-modified, in this case).
3. No.
4. Yes.
5. Behavioral specifics will be covered in detail in the next OOC event post after sign-ups conclude.

Would a death return them to normal or would they just wake up with the same modifications/brainwashing?

1. What are the basic worker tasks again? Does this include working in the cafeteria?
2. Prussia's ghost body would now be immaterial, correct? So hitting him there wouldn't kill him. If it is immaterial, does this extend to not being able to pick things up or being able to physically attack others (ie. his hands would pass right through them)?
3. If Prussia can pick things up, will he be able to use his sword to attack people when malfunctioning, or is he limited to just beating people to death?

will the modified characters also feel compelled to kill other modified characters in this way? or just the residents that didn't sign up for the event?

I know in my app you guys said this would just be something for approved player plots, but since he has access to the full gamut of his abilities while he is a quasi retrieval unit, I was wondering if that was included...
