Warning: Incoming Info-Dump (AKA: Tower Floor Guide, Go!)
Hi all!
Neko Sandy here, mun of the Tower's local sanctimoniousass knight! As many of you know from some of the logs and Network posts Diarmuid and Saber of White (no_longer_a_king ) have done, they have been working on a guide collecting and organizing the dangers of each floor of the Tower pretty much since they arrived back in January. With everything that has been revealed lately and with the only nice administrator in charge at the moment, Diarmuid has finally decided it's time to get that guide--as incomplete as it might seem to him--out for people to use.
As a result, he is going to make a set of Network posts around the 17th. My apologize to Sephiroth mun for posting this while the collar boycott plot is going on! I was hoping to try and get this done when nothing else was occurring, but that's not happening with all that is going on this month. *facepalm*
The first Network post will be a request that anyone who volunteered to help back in this Network Post and anyone else who would like to help make copies of the guide come to the 3rd floor Library the next day to start making them. He will also teach anyone who is interested in learning how the printing press works how to use it at that time. This is a handwaved event because of everything else going on right now (and because I have no idea how a printing press works X.x). Diarmuid will be in the library for roughly two to three days (no set times--he's a servant and since he doesn't have to eat or sleep, he's not stopping until everything is done) so people are welcome say their characters came in at anytime during that time period to help.
After all the copies are made and out, he is going to make another post to the Network. This post is actually going to be the one that holds a copy of the guide for people who use the Network. It will also be the only permanent copy of the guide that stays anywhere in the Tower as we all know anything physically posted tends to disappear pretty quickly.
Since this is a lot of OOC information bring brought IC, per the Mods there are some restrictions as to what can and cannot be done with it. Anyone who wants to have their characters involved in this (and I encourage anyone whose characters would like to be involved to be involved even if they haven't met Diarmuid or Saber of White yet), please keep these things in mind should they do anything with the guides later:

I am sure I am forgetting something, but I think that is it for now. Since the main gathering for this is handwaved, this isn't a player plot and so I'm not asking for sign ups or anything like that. However, if you would like to drop your character's name in here to let me know they will be there, feel free. This is really just an open chance for people whose characters might be looking for something to do to help better the tower to get involved doing so.

- While the initial passing out of copies will include a copy posted to every floor that can have a copy posted on it, these copies will not last long and should not be replaced. Instead, Diarmuid will request that people focus on trying to keep stacks of copies available for people to pick up should they want one in places like the libraries, cafeteria, and lounges.
- There cannot be any mass passing out of the guides to people. In that same vein, there cannot be any mass deliveries to mailboxes either. This is to allow players who still wish their characters to run afoul the dangers of the floors a way to say their characters just didn't know. ICly, I think it would be safe to assume that the time and materials needed to do such a thorough blanketing of the Tower is just not available.
- It is allowed to pass a copy of the guide out to someone who asks, though! Diarmuid has been doing this ever since he started making it, in fact. If a character would like to keep a few copies to do so, feel free!
- As mentioned above, the only permanent copy of the guide anywhere will be the one posted to the Network. As such, Diarmuid will be encouraging everyone to link the guide whenever they feel like it so that newcomers can see it. He will also ask people who often are on the Network to keep an eye on the post since it is well known that the administrators sometimes mess with posts that have helpful (or interesting) information in them.
A few notes about the guide itself:
- The guide is basically a reworked version of the OOC Setting Page that the Mods have made. However, despite working on this for roughly seven months, the guide is still incomplete. If a character is going to reference the guide, please be sure to check on what information is on it at the time to be sure the information you are using is actually there.
- Because of it being incomplete, Diarmuid will request that anyone who has anything they would like to add, feel free to make a post with that information in it so that he can add it to the guide. He will even accept anonymous information since he knows how painful some of the experiences the floors bring on can be. (Yes, trolls this means you can try to sneak in false information should you wish to.)
- For the floors that lend themselves to being able to be mapped, there will be maps originally made by Saber of White to go with the written information. These maps will have some short notes about commonly found monsters and floor dangers on them.
