All right. For those of you who know Persona 4, you know Izanami here. And those of you who don't, you are about to get a crash course on the basics of something from the game. Why? Because I am bringing you a player plot. A very big one, too.
Izanami is the Shinto goddess of death, basically. In Persona 4, she decides to give humanity exactly what they want, in a manner of speaking. She selected three representatives and, through them, discovered that humans are a contradiction--they long to expose their deepest, hidden selves that they keep repressed, and yet don't, while simultaneously wishing to see that hidden self of others. So the fog began, spawned by Izanami and her aspect, Ameno-sagiri.
That fog? Created what is known as a Shadow, based on the Jungian psychology concept. That is, the Shadow is the deepest parts of our personality we deny--positive or negative, depending on what it is we deny. The Shadows in Persona 4 then take those traits we deny in ourselves and make them a complete exaggeration. When denied (told, "You're not me") they go berserk and transform into a boss form. This event can kill your character. Accepting the Shadow--or, if it goes berserk, defeating and accepting it--will cause the Shadow to return to the character quite happily as, in the end, all they want is to be acknowledged.
So, starting early on Sept 6, Izanami will spread her fog over the Tower. And when this happens, people exposed may start manifesting Shadows. Why is this? Because she is fed up with people not realizing their potential and then despairing about things. So this is her way of helping people become stronger.
This event is opt-in. There will be a sign-up, and these will close Sept 4. Then, on Sept 5 a final schedule of when whose Shadow will manifest will go up. This is to keep it nice and organized inside the log I will be posting! Depending on how many people sign up, the event will end sometime before or on the thirteenth.
All questions should be asked under the thread for them, and all sign-ups should be done in the thread for them.
EDIT: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SIGN UP TO HELP WITH SHADOWS. The signing up is so I can make a rough schedule of the day their Shadow will appear so we can keep this neat and organized.
