Event: If You Don't; Part One

The plastic bowl and the note are not there before 6:30 AM - characters who woke before that time won't see them until they return. But any time after 6:30, the note will be able to be picked up and read.

You'd better stock up on candy while you can! They get awfully hungry, you know! ❤

Reading the note in its entirety will make a character feel like they must go and gather candy; they won't know quite why, but there will be a nagging feeling at the back of their minds like they ought to. A particularly stubborn character will be able to keep themselves from doing so with varying effects during the days that follow - on the first day it will be merely a slightly annoying feeling that they're forgetting to do something, but with each passing day the feeling will progress more and more towards full-blown paranoia and a sense of overwhelming dread that if they don't start looking, something terrible will happen. This feeling will go away when they have placed at least one piece of candy that they have gathered in their bowl.

Similarly, reading the note will give a character the feeling that they must put whatever candy they stock up on in the bowls - they are still free not to, of course, but if they hoard it elsewhere they'll have a nagging feeling that there's something they've forgotten throughout the week which will only go away once they've put some or all of their candy into the bowl. This feeling is much easier to ignore than the resulting paranoia from not gathering candy, however.

When a character sets out with the intention to search for candy, they will begin to notice that the candy is scattered about the floors of the Tower. It will be easy enough to pick up one or two pieces in passing as they go about their days, but they will have a nagging feeling that if they look more thoroughly, they will be able to "stock up" - though they will not be able to explain how they know this, or why they are compelled to look.

Characters will have six full days to scour the Tower: The 20th, the 21st, the 22nd, the 23rd, the 24th, and the 25th.

On the 20th, they will be able to search 15 floors before they stop perceiving candy. After they have searched 15 floors, they will not notice candy no matter where else they go - even if they are accompanying someone else who has not yet searched 15 floors and is still seeing candy.

On the 21st, they will be able to search 12 floors before they stop perceiving candy.

On the 22nd, they will be able to search 10 floors before they stop perceiving candy.

On the 23rd, they will be able to search 7 floors before they stop perceiving candy.

On the 24th, they will be able to search 5 floors before they stop perceiving candy.

On the 25th, they will be able to search 2 floors before they stop perceiving candy. At 11:59 PM this night, they will stop perceiving candy entirely, though it will still technically be there; two minutes later, on 12:01 AM on the 26th, any candy that is not already in plastic bowls will vanish from the Tower.

Any characters who, at that point, do not have any candy contained in their bowls will find themselves inexplicably on-edge throughout the next couple of days, and they may find themselves thinking things they wouldn't normally - such as, That person has too much candy, surely they wouldn't notice a few missing... - almost as though the suggestion has been whispered to them in the back of their mind.

If your character is gathering candy during the next six days, please respond to the proper comment below with the following:

1. The day they are searching and how long they spend looking
2. A list of the floors they are searching, in the order they are searching them
3. Their method of searching - whether this means scanning the floor and picking up the first few candies they see, or looking more thoroughly
4. If anyone else is on the floor with them and searching at the same time

You are welcome to post each character's actions for the entire duration all at once if you so choose, but it is also just fine (and expected) to do one day at a time because their actions the next day may be influenced by what they and their CR find on each of the floors. In this case, please post your first day's batch as a response to the comment below, and your second day's batch as a response to the mod comment you will receive in reply so that we can contain all of your findings to a single thread.

If your character is signed up for the event but is not gathering candy for whatever reason - be it their own stubbornness or they got distracted or some other reason - please respond to gathering comment saying which day they abstained from gathering, so that we can detail any specifics they will feel minus the fact that they will feel like they are forgetting something (though this will mostly come after skipping more than one day in a row).

Happy hunting!

Exactly the way we've planned out the week for! How big is a giant gummy bear, by the way?

Day:
23rd, from 7am or so to late afternoon.

Floors and Methods:
86 (fairy rings): They begin on a floor Lucifel teleports to at random. Careful to avoid the suspicious rings of mushrooms, they search the grass.
85 (chutes and ladders): They'll play through this floor, and collect anything they find along the way. Lucifel will teleport them back to the stairs if they happen to get stuck.
84 (minecraft): They don't spend very long here because of how dangerous it is, with the Creepers in power loss conditions, but they do search the landscape thoroughly a yard or two out from the stairs, turning over rocks, looking in trees and other plants and so on.
83 (animal clothes): They'll dig through the piles of clothes here and reach into their pockets if need be.
82 (masquerade): For expedience's sake, if they encounter the figure others have, Enoch will hesitate, but remove his mask while Lucifel will ask why, and then refuse if he gets no response (if the figure does respond we'll play off that). After that, they'll do a quick sweep of the floor, paying special attention to any decorations candy could be hidden behind.
81 (upper lounge): They search the same way they did on the 21st, looking under couch cushions and under the couches themselves and lifting up beanbags, and looking in the bulged windows.
80 (circus): Lucifel gets his second day at work in while Enoch searches the perimeter and audience seating again. Lucifel will also check around the tightrope where he performs.

Company:
Enoch and Lucifel are pretty much acting as a unit. Sure feels like canon in here.

Day:
24th, 45 minutes to an hour per floor except 40 where it takes much longer.

Floors and Methods:
43 (jail) - with Quark: Once again, they start on a floor Lucifel teleports to at random. They perform the same sort of search, looking in cells and under, on top of, and behind anything in them. One of them may also search under and behind any furniture meant for the guards, and Quark is able to fit into smaller spaces than Enoch or Lucifel.
41 (bugs) - with Quark: Lucifel stops time to keep the bugs from moving (thus preventing death by swarm), and, with the flashlight/lantern(we're still not sure which) he summoned to help with the tower-in-a-tower before, they explore the frozen bugs for any sign of candy hidden among them. They're still light on their feet, though, and if any of them seems like he's sinking too far, Lucifel will teleport them all back to the stairs. (If this isn't allowed, we will revise)
40 (storage) - with Zelda: Good thing Lucifel stopped time in the previous floor, because it was time saved for this one. Even with three people searching the room, it takes up quite a bit of time. They're as thorough as Enoch was on the 20th, searching on shelves, in boxes, and on top of larger ones.
39 (gym) - with Zelda: Lucifel takes advantage of his angelic strength to move weights aside with minimal risk while Enoch and Zelda explore the rest of the equipment, looking under, behind, and on top of them.
38 (middle lounge) - with Zelda: And again, there's a focus on under furniture and its cushions, and under and in the folds of beanbags. If the cushions are the kind that zip open, Enoch will finally notice the zippers and check inside them.

Company:
Enoch and Lucifel are still working together; they're joined by Quark and Zelda today where noted.

Day:
25th, from late morning to dinner hours.

Floors and Methods:
Dorm 3-18: Enoch has a plan for today. Because of the intent rule, he winds up checking his own trunk and the floor under his bed (and the other bed on that side) for candy as he switches his Arch for the Gale and sticks the Arch under the bed for safekeeping. Lucifel may show up in time to search the other two beds and the two empty trunks, and if either of them find anything they'll search in the pillowcases too, of all four beds.
67 (space): Enoch wanted to show Lucifel this floor. However, unlike before, Enoch is no longer limited to two jumps. Enoch has the Gale Tackle for a little more movement, and in weightlessness, the little recoil its charge attack has will push him a long way. In addition, he's with Lucifel. For the most part, Enoch is here for fun, so there's no particular pattern as they play with being in a weightless environment, drifting, air-dashing, pushing themselves off air, and teleporting through the glamoured space as long as there is sufficient oxygen/pressure. They'll go for and grab any candies they see along the way, of course. They spend several hours doing this, only stopping at dinnertime to teleport to the cafeteria, ending their ability to search for the day.

Company:
Enoch and Lucifel are goofing around still working together.

1. The 24th. Most of the morning.
2. Floors 88, 80, and back up to Dorm floor one
3. 88: She searches the corners of the floor, the pool table, and inside the bar if that's optional.
80: Staying to the sidelines, Veronica scans the circus for any candy, not really wanting to jump into such a chaotic place.
Dorm floor: Finally had enough, and paranoia taking complete control, Veronica goes back to her floor and back to her room, but not before searching a little more.
4. Rick Dawn (Floors 88 and 80, until she leaves on her own)

On the 20th, all day on all of the floors. He's going to be looking for areas that others haven't crowded into, or are just beginning to show up to look. Mostly he's going to keep to himself and look for things that most others would probably overlook.

Day: 23rd, mid-morning
Floors searched: Dorm Floors 2 and 1, then 57, 58, 59, 60, 61
Method: He's searching pretty much the same way as before, but now sticking to fewer floors as he grows more bored with the actual candy hunting. He'll check the dorm floors to the elevator and then get off the elevator at floor 61, heading down from there. Once he gets to floors 58 and 57, he'll be spending more time there practicing/hitting things than actually candy-hunting.

On the 22nd
Floor 75: Since he was there till the end of the 21st, he'll still be there at midnight and will spend a little while looking still. A couple hours spent here, as always.
Dormitory Floors 1 to 5: Ganondorf won't really be searching, but he'll use his powers to see if anything is to be found. Not spending a lot of time on each of these floors.
Floor 01: Same than for the dormitory floors, he won't be actively searching but will still give a quick scan with his powers and grab anything it picks up.
Floor 14: Ganondorf will use his powers here to do a thorough search, half an hour or so.
Floor 03: He will be searching a lot more actively here than in any other floors, both with his powers and actually digging behind books and stuff. He may actually turn around most books in the library, so consider he'll be here for most of the day.
Floor 28: Like for the dormitory floors, he will just do a quick scan before settling down and playing organ.

On the 23rd
Floor 28: He'll be here as a continuation from the 23rd, and will be doing a complete scan before leaving the room. And of course, pick up anything he sees. He'll spend as much time as he deems necessary following his scan.
Floor 27: Thorough search- Count between half an hour and one hour, both using his powers and getting manual if needed.
Floor 26: Same than above, and he'll be checking the bodies too.
Floor 25: He'll just pass by quickly, a regular scan is all he'll do.
Floor 24: Same than for the meadow really.
Floor 22: Ganon will go through a more thorough search here-- He'll actually turn around the paintings if needed, so count an hour or two. ... And burn any painting depicting his defeats, but that's another story.
Floor 11:He'll spend an hour or so here checking, at night. Mostly through his powers.

On the 24th
Floor 19: Like for the other library, he's gonna check every books so expect him to spend an hour or so, and again using his powers.
Floor 13: Mandatory scan of the cathedral, but nothing more really.
Floor 49: Ganon is gonna spend some time in the mirror maze-- And will probably end up breaking a mirror, not that he cares much. Again, he'll use his scanning powers.
Floor 66: He'll be exploring this floor with his powers as scanning method, again.
Floor 78: Just checking the mail room, so using a quick power scan once again. He may also open post office boxes, well, the ones not assigned to anybody at least.

On the 25th
Floor 64: Ganondorf will be searching for the Oasis for the third time now, using his usual methods. I don't know if he will succeed, but he'll be looking for candies. Will take many hours, obviously.
Floor 43: Exploring of the cell floors, even of the inside of the cells and obviously looking for candies, will take an hour or so.

Needless to say, he's all alone...
