While passing the merry-go-round, Hachiken will be grabbed by a small child and yanked up onto the ride. There are many children, though all of them are oddly blurry--too blurry to make out the features of. He will be unable to resist them as one grabs one of his hands and the other another. The children circle around the merry-go-round's center playing ring-around-the-rosie with him, repeating it several times. However, the last time they reach "we all fall down", the floor drops out beneath him and he falls into a pit, blacking out.

When he wakes up, he will find himself laying face-down on the merry-go-round, unharmed.
