Event: Fun and Games; Part Three - Hitori Kakurenbo
Characters who signed up for this event will meet at the elevator at noon on February 29th (for the sun never did rise today), gathered by blank collared units. Characters who did not sign up will be invited along by these units, but if they choose to go with them the game will be much more dangerous for them.
After everyone is gathered they will be brought into an elevator--somehow much larger than it appeared on the outside--where those who signed up originally have their teddy bears waiting for them. Anyone who destroyed their bear will find it still missing its arm, but anyone who took care of their bear as assigned to will find the bear has repaired itself. Taped to the bear is the following note:
Give me a name! We're going to play Hide and Seek!
Next to the bear is the following:
*Rice
*Clippers
*A knife
*A needle with a long piece of red thread
*Japanese sake
*a full bath tub
*a cell phone
The elevator will close and travel, and while it travels the following instructions will be given to those with bears:
1. Cut the bear's stomach open and remove all its stuffing.
2. Replace the stuffing with rice and your fingernail clippings (if you don't have fingernails, any little part of your body will do; the clippers are strong enough to clip off anything)
3. Sew the bear back up with the red thread, then wrap the remaining thread tightly around the bear.
4. Hold the bear above the bathtub and say three times "for the first game [your name] is going to be it", then drop the bear into the water.
At this point the elevator doors will open into one floor of an apartment apartment complex. All apartments are identically well-furnished with roughly modern day technology.
5. Run around the complex turning off all the lights but leaving the televisions (all tuned to static) on.
6. Close your eyes and count to ten. Return to the elevator, tell your bear "I found [bear's name]" and stab it with the knife.
At this point anyone participating who is not the owner of a bear will be instructed to hide somewhere in the apartment. You may hide alone or in groups. The bear owners still have more to do.
7. The bear owners tell their bear "okay, now [bear name] is it".
8. Quickly and quietly leave the elevator and go hide somewhere in the house, either alone or in a group. Make sure to bring your sake but do not drink it.
It might be important to note, here, that in Japan, when you play hide and seek, the person who is "it" is the oni.
You must hide until sunrise. The bears will travel from room to room, entering a new room each hour. They may search one place in each room, although they may not do this each time. If you are discovered, the following things may happen:
-If you have no bear, you will be torn to pieces, your remains strewn messily across the room.
-If you have a bear, you may be found once by a bear not belonging to you before you are torn to pieces.
-If you are found by your own bear and have taken care of it, the bear will leave you alone.
-If you destroyed your bear your bear will instantly kill you as soon as it is in the same room as you.
There is one way to avoid this fate: if you are found, you can tell the bear where someone else is hiding. If you lie, the bear will know instantly and kill you. Upon being told where someone is hiding, the bear will move to that hiding spot as quickly as it can.
Some of the bears will have no owner--all bears will be in play, even if the characters who owned them have dropped from the game. As for how they ended up involved in the game when there was no one there to perform the ritual, who knows?
The cell phone will be connected to the Network, linked to one post. It is the only thing anyone in the Tower can access on the 29th. Those participating in the game must post at least once every three hours on the network or they will be immediately found by the closest bear.
You must remain away from the bears until sunrise. The sun will rise at 7am on March 1st. You have nineteen hours. Instructions will be provided via your cell phones on what to do to end the game once the nineteen hours are up.
The game will take place here. Good luck.
Post away, guys!

oh also. Are characters told that the only way to prevent death is to betray someone else's position to the bears?

Or would they like... attract bears to their location to kill them, or would it be like a person without a bear entering the gameplay late? ... or some other possibility I'm not thinking of orz.

BEAR STATUS
HOUR ONE - NOON
After giving the characters fifteen minutes to hide, all bears have entered the hallway from the elevator.
Anyone lingering in the hallway will experience intense vertigo, stronger the closer they are to a bear. Ears will ring and pop, and a sound like a heavy rainstorm beating down on the roof will be heard (but will not be heard in any area other than the hallway). Characters at the ends of the hallway will have a few minutes to run into a room, but drawing close to the elevator where the bears start out will invite instant death, given the high bear concentration.
HOUR TWO - ONE PM
HOUR THREE - TWO PM
HOUR FOUR - THREE PM
HOUR FIVE - FOUR PM
HOUR SIX - FIVE PM
HOUR SEVEN - SIX PM
HOUR EIGHT - SEVEN PM
HOUR NINE - EIGHT PM
HOUR TEN - NINE PM
HOUR ELEVEN - TEN PM
HOUR TWELVE - ELEVEN PM
HOUR THIRTEEN - MIDNIGHT
HOUR FOURTEEN - ONE AM
HOUR FIFTEEN - TWO AM
HOUR SIXTEEN - THREE AM
HOUR SEVENTEEN - FOUR AM
HOUR EIGHTEEN - FIVE AM
HOUR NINETEEN - SIX AM
