Hi, fresh meat here! I'm Jenny and I'll be bringing with me VRISKA SERKET from that infectious webcomic HOMESTUCK. She's in room 1-07 and her collar is BLUE, which she is okay with because that is an awesome color.

She's kind of a huge bitch, but there's more than meets the eye to her, if you can stand to get past that aspect. Did I mention she's a little kill happy sometimes? No? Oh, she's that too. In fact, she's coming in from right after having killed someone! But she does have a few too few redeeming qualities, I promise! She can be a total bro if she likes you.

Something I'd like to note, if you aren't familiar with Homestuck canon, Vriska has a TYPING QUIRK, which I've put under a cut here.

She types in 8lue and likes to replace her 'b's and 'ate' sounds with the num8er 8.
When she's especially upset and/or angry, she tends to repl8ce a l8t of v8wels with th8 num8er 8, where she normally wouldn't.
And she likes to 8e a little over-draaaaaaaamatic and elong8 her words or use eight punctu8tion sym8ols.

I understand that this can be difficult to read and/or super annoying to try to follow for some people. Since it will be the natural way for her to respond, you'll probably end up seeing it a lot.

That being said, I have a PERMISSIONS POST set up for those who would rather I not tag them with her color, typing quirk, or text. The post is screened, but please specify if you are from Animus so that I can keep track of it!

Dumb question since I don't know Homestuck from a hole in the ground.

Does that typing quirk correlate to her voice? Like would characters think she has a strange voice, or does she thus talk funny when mad and the 8s show up everywhere?

But, nope! It will be strictly kept to her text responses. (: Voice and video will be pretty normal, except for the whole gray skin and candy corn horns thing.

Like 90% of Homestuck interactions are done over the computer so we don't really see a lot of offline interacting. When they do, the quirk is still used but it doesn't make an awful lot of sense to me that they could be speaking in different colors and quirks because some of the quirks are just downright weird.

Hum. Then my theory of really unique voice might fit - is that a thing specific to the trolls, or do all the characters have typing quirks?

Nope, everyone in Homestuck has a quirk. But the kids only type in colors, and don't add weird stuff to their typing. I think leaving the color and quirks in for the few face to face things was for convenience of identifying characters.

Like one of the trolls, Feferi, replaces Hs with )(, and I think it would hard to actually... Say that haha. I think of it like back when I was thirteen and typing 1337 all the time on the computer. It was just the way I typed online, but I didn't try to mimic it when I talked outloud, if that makes sense! :3

My only headcanon is that Vriska elongates things sometimes when she speaks.

I think everyone has different opinions on how trolls speak, but mine is pretty simple for them, I guess. I won't be having her speak trying to mimic her quirk, but it's definitely food for thought!

Aww! Act 1 can be kind of slow and hard to get into, but once you get through it, the Acts following are pretty action packed!

I know some people start with Hivebent with the trolls first, and then come back to the first three acts? So that may help get you immersed and interested 8D
