Event: Trick or Treat; Part One

Over the next few days, characters may wake up to a bit of a surprise--instead of whatever they went to sleep in, they'll find themselves in costumes of all sorts. Either sitting on top of the trunk at the foot of their beds or, if they participated in the Hitori Kakurenbo event in February, in the laps of the teddy bears, is a plastic pumpkin with a note taped to the front:

Characters will find there appears to be candy scattered everywhere right now, hidden in corners and showering down after monsters are killed. So at least this week, while everyone is getting used to it, there isn't any shortage of candy, which is good: the longer you go without fulfilling the collected candy quota for the day, the tighter and more painful (even if you're inorganic) your costume becomes. If you do not collect the full quota for the day, your torso will be crushed entirely by your costume. And when you wake up, you'll come back--wrong. Warped and twisted with a more realistic version of whatever you were dressed up as now taking the place of parts of your body, you'll behave as a darker version of whatever the costume you were wearing was. And while you can resist it now, it will get more and more difficult to fight the urge to act like the costume that killed you as the month wears on...

Players will have until 11:59PM EST October 13 to sign their characters up for this. Characters may wake up with a costume at any time between now and then, and will be expected to fill the candy quota for the day they are currently on. There is no shortage of candy this week only.

To count toward the candy quota, the candy must be inside the plastic pumpkin and not consumed. Eating a piece of candy will temporarily revert the costume's tightness to normal for one hour, but after an hour it will revert back and tighten more to make up for the one hour lost (unless you meet the quota before then).

REMINDER: Characters must be an expy (Catwoman would be Felinewoman, think cheap knockoff costume) OR generic costume OR dresssed as someone from the tower.

Rin will be wearing a torn ballgown--it's white silk, but stained with red blood; there's a large gash in her stomach that bleeds, but that wound will not kill her. A tiara will be grafted to her head.

Rin will feel as if she is entitled to the obedience of everyone around her--and no matter what people do for her, none of it is good enough. The punishment for such insolence is death, of course--she will favor throwing people to the monsters or off the side of the Tower, but won't be against doing the job entirely on her own. The only way to kill Rin is to behead her.

Satsuki's skin has been replaced with her idol costume; a gold microphone has been half melted onto her right hand, although it still works.

Satsuki will have the urge to sing for everyone--of course, when she sings through the microphone in her hand the sound will quickly make people dizzy, then nauseous. If they remain, their ears will start to bleed and they will eventually die. Satsuki won't mind, though, and will instead go find more people to listen to her song.

Saki will be wearing a skintight pink nurse's outfit--actually, it's dyed human skin. Her face will be wrapped over and over in bandages, although there will be holes for her eyes. Saki will be provided with syringes.

Saki will attempt to inject people with the syringes she has--if he succeeds, the person she injects will suffer from the poison within. In a few moments they will begin foaming at the mouth, which will soon mix with blood as their lungs and esophagus begin to painfully dissolve. Saki will only have the urge to do this to people who will be able to suffer the effects.

Jade will have had her hair, and the top of her skull, replaced with a living blue Squiddle. Her arms and legs are gloves and stockings with nothing inside, although they maintain their shape and she can use the limbs normally. Her Squiddle staff now has a live Squiddle impaled on the top. Jade's body, in a subtle and not-quite-visible way, no longer obeys Euclidean geometry.

Except for those used to non-Eudlidean Eldterich horrors, being around Jade tends to unsettle people. Looking at her tends to cause headaches, disorientation, and creeping madness. Anyone unable to cope with such things will also not always be able to see her, as she will appear to warp from place to place impossibly. She will view those who react badly to her as enemies and try to kill them and ignore those who are fine with her appearance.

Emmett no longer has a body--it's entirely comprised of the costume.

Emmett will attempt to gather followers and manipulate them into killing his enemies--and anyone who won't follow him is an enemy. He will have the urge to take control of the residents of the Tower by any means possible. Taking off his costume will kill him, but it will also kill whoever removed it.

Jirou will have a peg leg shoved up into his left leg--it shreds what remains of his lower leg, but is usable as a limb. Both eyes are gone, although he is still able to see. He has a hook for a hand and a cutlass.

Jirou will want to steal and hoard all treasure in the Tower, especially the candy needed for the Trick or Treat event. Anyone who gets in his way he will want to kill, and he will not be above killing to steal things, either.

Archer's knight armor has fused together; he is unable to remove the armor at all. it looks quite dented and ruined in places, and is completely tarnished.

Archer will attack anyone who he views as dishonorable, but he will view all but the most impeccable manners as dishonorable. Anyone he attacks he will try to tear to pieces.

Gamzee's face is covered entirely in white paint, except for designs done in indigo via cutting pieces out of his face and lips. His vocal cords have been removed.

Gamzee will want to attempt to kill people via mime--anything he acts out is really happening, and therefore he can trap people in invisible boxes and crush them, lasso people with invisible ropes, and push people into the way of oncoming mimed trains. Anyone Gamzee touches is rendered unable to make noise for ten minutes--noises cause Gamzee pain, and a loud enough noise will kill him entirely.

Majora's outfit, made of brass, has been jammed roughly into her body--the skirt has been shoved piece by piece into her hips, the part covering her chest and torso is held up by the skin and muscles in her shoulders, and the headpiece has been jammed up against the skin of her head and causes constant bleeding, although she will not die from this injury.

Majora will want to try to sew chaos wherever she goes; most things she focuses her energy on will fall to pieces, including people, although she must focus on a person more strongly than an object.

Marty's outfit is just as cheesy as ever, but it looks like he's been trampled to death in a stampede and somehow come back out of it anyway; there's mud, blood, and numerous tears, and his arms and legs seem to be completely mangled--how he's walking is a mystery, but it's extremely painful to do so. He has been given a pop-gun style pistol that somehow fires real bullets.

Marty will feel as if someone is responsible for his current state--and he'll blame anyone near him for it. He will, in his anger, attempt to kill them, either by getting them torn to pieces by monsters or shooting them.

Xion's entire body has become wooden, and that wood is rotting through. There are termites eating away at her body and crawling through her, although they will not pose any serious threat to her.

Xion will suddenly detest liars; she will go out of her way to try and catch people in lies or force people to lie (even white lies), and when they do she will try to kill them. She is vulnerable to fire and being waterlogged.

Upon waking, Tohko will find her costume has shrunk a few sizes and been tied on too tightly besides--it's painful to move around in and cuts into her in places enough to draw blood form the friction. Her fingers have been replaced with razor-sharp blades.

Tohko will attempt to clean up the Tower. Anyone who gets in her way, even simply by interrupting her to ask what she's doing or making a minor new mess by trying to eat breakfast, will invoke her wrath. She will attempt to kill anyone who angers her.
