back, and LET'S TALK WITCHES AND LORES, TOWER.
So, my computer situation is not entirely resolved yet, but the replacement I have lined up for the moment should be here on Monday. That means I am dehiatusing.
And with that dehiatus comes a player plot over the weekend of the 11th and 12th of May! Which will be completely fun and not traumatic in the slightest.

By which I mean it will be both, of course.
So, as anyone who knows Madoka Magica knows, Magical Girls (Puella Magi) eventually turn into witches if they lose hope and give into despair. Well, it's true for the spinoff series, too. A Puella Magi gets a Grief Seed created when her Soul Gem is created. It lies dormant unless she starts to despair, then it becomes a time bomb: when the seed hatches, a witch is born, and the girl dies.
For the last few months, Saki has been fighting her own despair, but the events of Rebellion - particularly seeing the other Puella Magi in Animus mind-controlled and lashing out, seeing them killing others - have shifted the careful balance between hope and despair squarely into the despair column. In this plot, Saki's Grief Seed will hatch, and she will turn into a witch. She'll put up a barrier and labyrinth, and the witch herself will be waiting at the center.
Saki's barrier will be around Floor 61. A series of large platforms as seen here will come up out of the ground, and she'll be the large thing at the center. The rest of the floor will look like a meadow.
Anyone is welcome to try and fight Witch Saki, or try and talk her down, but she's only going to return to normal after she dies and drops her Grief Seed, then revives. This is more than likely going to be a job for one of the magical girls.
There is a strong chance of major character injury or character death if your character chooses to fight Saki's witch. I'm more than happy to work with you on this, though! Just let me know your comfort levels.
Anyone is also welcome to have their character affected by a Witch's Kiss - Saki's will look like decorative lily-of-the-valley flowers. Anyone affected by a Witch's Kiss will seem listless and depressed. They'll want to do things they wouldn't normally do, such as harm themselves or throw themselves off a Tower ledge.
This is entirely optional and avoidable by sticking close to the stairs or using the elevator when passing by Floor 61 those two days. Any character that is affected will have the effects broken when Saki dies, which will be sometime on the 12th ICly.
Any questions or comments that you have can be run by me in the comments! I'll put up a reminder closer to time. ♥

Cast on the witch? Provide a distraction while someone else hit her.
Excellent. 8D

So I think Garm would do some pretty nasty damage!

For reference in his canon, both what he does to cleanse his weapons of vileness (and the soul gems of the Puella Magi whose muns allow it), and defeating an enemy with a holy weapon are called "purification", though I'm fairly certain the weapon version is more like "purging".
