So, ever since England got those glasses from Zo, he's had a thought in his head. When a nation like him is brought to the Tower, the status of their country is essentially put into stasis; he can only feel his country in the exact way that it was when he was brought to the Tower, barring when he looks through the viewfinders.

This is really starting to bother him. So, he's going to ask the administrators if they can connect him to the English people in the Tower instead!

I've made a list of characters that I know this affects, but I don't remember the details of every canon, so I may have missed some! If I have, feel free to chime in here. Know that for the purposes of this dumb thing that England is doing, I am defining "English" as "anyone that considers themselves English". So dual citizenship, mixed heritage, born somewhere else but identifies with their English parent, time-travellers, all count!

Additionally, he'll be requesting to be connected to the following CR:

So what does this mean for the characters involved? Not much, actually! Your character will not exhibit any significant effects as a result of this connection. If they meet England in person, they may have the vague sense that they've met him somewhere before, but that's it!

England will be bearing the brunt of this dumb move, which is where this OOC post comes in. If one of these characters dies, he will feel it. His health will be directly linked to the well-being of these characters. What this means is that I, as the mun, have to keep track of what happens to these characters in the Tower! I plan to do this by subscribing to all the listed journals and keeping an eye on what entries go up, in case something happens. However, it would definitely be easier on me to have open OOC communication with the muns involved!

This is the part where I understand that some people may not want to deal with checking in with me whenever their characters die. Therefore, being linked to England is opt-in. The glamour systems are faulty, so it's always possible that ICly, some of his citizens might not be synced up to him with this! If you're not comfortable with any of this, that's totally fine. This is just the next logical step of England's nation-related character development and I don't want to ignore it.

So what day does this start taking effect? Sola-ui died during the time stop on the 26th. Would England have felt her death then?

It would start taking effect on August 1st! England is going to be putting in a request to the suggestion box, which would be filled on the first of the month.
