Another intro!
HEY THERE ANIMUS. Chris here with a new character! I would like to introduce you to Naoto Shirogane from Persona 4. She's itty bitty. She's a detective. She is all srs bsns and has been ruining everyone's fun since 1992. Oh, and she pretends to be a boy.
This Naoto is post-game, true ending and all that jazz, but she hasn't gone through any of her social link yet. The protagonist just wasn't smart enough to figure out how to talk to her. For bonus background funtimes, I'm also taking her from an old game she was in. She started to get a bit more comfortable with herself, but now she's been uprooted again.What this means for all of you is now that Naoto is in a new place where no one knows her or her secret, so she'll still be posing as a boy. I'll be using male pronouns for her in logs for a bit. Once someone finds her out, I'll use female pronouns, but only in threads where every character involved is aware of her true gender. Of course, once she's been completely outed, I'll just use female pronouns all the time.
I am totally ok with her eventually getting outed, but I'd rather this not happen for quite some time. She's been doing this a long, long time and unless you're Sherlock Holmes or something (and if you are Naoto will love you forever and will most likely follow you around like a puppy because you're SHERLOCK. HOLMES. OMG.) it's INCREDIBLY unlikely that someone is going to be able to see through her act.
If you want your character to find out, or they're perceptive enough to figure it out on their own, come talk to me so we can work out the particulars. c:
I know gender issues are touchy subjects and I am trying to portray hers in a realistic way. If you ever find something I've written offensive or think I'm not handling the situation well enough, please, please, pleeeease tell me. I have an anonymous hmd up at her journal so you can drop me a line there, on aim, over email, pm, etc. Naoto isn't here to offend you. She's here to solve all your mysteries. Or... something like that.

2. It is probably totally IC for L to see through the gender presentation, or at least to kind of have a sense that something is off, even if he can't put his finger on it right away. However... even if he did, I don't think he'd have any good reason to expose it; he'd be curious, want to observe, try to guess at the reasons behind Naoto choosing to present herself as a boy, and so on. At worst, he'd save it as a card he could play if he needed to... but I doubt they'd have that kind of enmity anyway. Mostly this would all come out as him peering at her and having internal suspicions. That said, we can work something out that you're comfortable with! He's astute and a very skilled profiler, not psychic.

Since the housing is separated by gender, I want to say it'll be pretty obvious to her roommates that she's female? Is that okay if I play that out with Willow? Willow herself is gay and pretty sensitive to alternative lifestyle issues like that, so she'd keep it a secret if requested / go along with whatever was asked of her. I just wanted to double check before we got to it, ICly!

So, um, Ienzo is extremely perceptive of shit. He probably won't guess Naoto's secret on the first or second meeting, and almost certainly won't out her, but he's probably going to detect that something is a little bit off. :D Have fun with a mini scientist side-eyeing you for the rest of your time in the Tower, Naoto.
