Change of plans

So, for those of you who were involved with the Hacking plot, after Archer's disappearance (and with Archer-mun's permission), Xion will be taking charge. Xion - as a gravekeeper - will learn from her job within a day that Archer has disappeared from the Tower. From there, she'll try to get in contact with as many people that had been at the meeting as possible.

She'll tell them that Archer has gone but, given that they've already explained the plan she'll insist that they should try and press forward anyway. Might log this out if enough people are interested/want to, but given that the plot itself is running a little late we should probably handwave it at this point. The biggest thing she'll be concerned about is making sure that there's still someone there to be the decoy at the elevators since Archer won't be here for that.

She'll probably bring up the need for a new decoy when talking to people, but if nobody offers then she'll be willing to do so herself. She'll also give people the option to back out if they want to given the changes.

So, at this point what I need from you guys is to let me know if you're still participating and if anybody would be interested in taking over as the elevator decoy. Given that we're running a little late, the sooner you can get back to me, the better.

Naoya's still in, and he can totally take over as the decoy if no one else is willing to. He's still also open to doing some of the information searching too.

I think we might have some other willing people so I don't think that'll be an issue. If all else fails I'll keep him in mind though. And we definitely want to make sure there's still enough on the actual hacking team.

Sertoria's still interested in this. She'd probably be better suited for the technological portion of the plot, but can also provide assistance being the decoy as well.

Lily's still in since she was "close" to Archer. She can be one of the people acting as decoy at the elevator.

Sorry for the edit. I was on my break when I wrote the above.

What I mean is, Saber Lily would've been a distraction alongside Archer, her reasoning being the Administrators know she's been down there twice before and know she'll try a third time. So having her be (one of) the distraction(s) would easily draw their attention.

How many people do you think she'd want as distraction with her? Because at this point, I've double-checked the numbers and even with everyone still participating we'll have a max of around sevenish people (we lost another participant to drops and Richtofen is bowing out). I admit I'm not too experienced with hacking and what's required for it but I don't want to split the group up too much and there not being enough people on the hacking team itself.

Probably one or two. From what I understand the original plan involved two groups: one who would be a distraction by the elevator and one doing the actual hacking. The ones acting as a distraction would need at least one person to at least go through the motions of acting like they're hacking the elevator.

IDK how many would come with her? It depends on who volunteers for the distraction group. So maybe one or two other people acting as a distraction alongside her, including the person pretending to hack the elevator.

All I know about hacking is you need to be epic with computers to pull it off well.

I'll offer Archer/Gilgamesh to participate as a decoy, based on Shinji's participation; they're Servant and Master.

All right that works/helps, it looks like Saber Lily was originally slated to being distraction along with Archer (the one who started the plot), so they'd be working together on that. I admit I'm not canon-familiar so does Archer/Gilgamesh have hacking experience to actually try to hack the elevator or will they need a third person who does?

This Gilgamesh is noted as being more accustom to modern society than other Servants, but I couldn't make the stretch that he's familiar enough with computers to know hacking. So they'll need a third person to actually hack, most likely.

Actually I think Xion will offer to take the role of hacker in the distraction, since as mentioned below, Shinji will mention that he's got a lot of experience and Xion will feel that someone like that is probably better off on the hacking team, since she has much less so.

Shinji is 1000% still in on this and he would def be open to offering his Servant as the decoy, aha. He would prefer to be involved in the information digging team (b/c he thinks that's more important and he wants to be ~important~), but he can hack the elevator if necessary! He would note that he has experience with digging up sensitive information undetected, though, seeing as he's actually a freelance hacker back home that has gotten into some pretty high security shit.

Xion will probably be fine with Shinji being on the hacking team. Frankly looking at the replies I'm inclined to think she'll want to be the hacker on the decoy team since she's overall less experienced/qualified and let those who are actually better for the job actually try to get the information they're looking for.

If Xion gives him some kind of heads-up, Riku would totally up to helping out with decoys, if you still need help there.

Given that I get the feeling Xion's going to be the hacker on the decoy team, I get the feeling Riku might want to tag along anyway should he find out about it.

I'm okay with him finding out if you want. I'm not sure if Xion would talk about it a lot but if he were to stumble across it or ask she'd admit to it I think, especially to Riku.

So I guess at this point it's more what you want to do? I talked to Mel and everyone involved will receive some kind of punishment on the 15th and the decoy team might die (normal Tower death). Also everybody will get a nice retrieval unit stalker, unless they already have one.

Augh, I wish I'd thought of that, but unfortunately I think the groups are pretty set by this point and I'm a bit worried about making them too big.

Shion can tell Xion off for going off and doing potentially dangerous things on her own, rather than the other way around, for once?
