Plotting Post | Event: If You Don't

Hey guys, 

I know we've just had the CR meme but since the Event Start/Part One post has gone up as well I thought it might be neat to have an ooc-plotting post to cover the Candy-hunting week- we're certainly not all on Plurk, or at the same time in a lot of cases after all! 

So...post with info's pertaining to what your character(s) is/are doing with regard to the Candy Hunt! Where are they looking, who with and how far will they go to fill, and protect their immovable bowls of candy? Stealing others' stashes? Making sure their friends have an ample stash of candy available as well? Trying to stubbornly abstain and then dealing with the increasing paranoia? Anything!  

Tag around and generally plot all the shenanigans!

Rick is also a dog and very susceptible to suggestion! He will be searching as obsessively and as long as the mods will let me--particularly since he'll interpret this as some kind of means to get to Ruana and possibly confront her. So while this means he'll be happy to help whoever he runs into (and his canine nose will no doubt lead to good yields), when it comes near the end of the event, he might start acting out against people he thinks are trying to take his precious candy. Not violently--at least, not unless someone deliberately tries to take some. So that could also be fun.

Anyways, if you want to join in on the dog-search brigade, just let me know! Specific days would be nice, to make it easier on the mods.

I've no idea how empty Sephiroth's bowl is going to be by the end of the first week but if it came to it I imagine he'd see Rick as an easy mark to steal candy from...

Depending on how much of the paranoia he can take before going hunting for his own and being dragged into the compulsion to stock up.

Maybe Quark and Rick could team up sometime during the middle of the week when he's free? The 22nd or 23rd or so? A sniffer dog and an expert junk collector teaming up to put their skills to the candy-finding test how is this idea not excellent?

Anyone want fake candies?

Ganondorf is going to spread fake candies around the tower.
From the mods: "Anyone opting in to this may be given fake candies in their gathering results starting on the 21st as well, so keep that in mind!".
So at your own risks if you opt in for that.

Starting on the 21st, Ganondorf will be hiding fake candies in spots where real candies could be found-- And they'll be absolutely indistinguishable from real candies. Why you say? Because last year there were less and less candies toward the end, so he's decided to trick all potential rivals before anything drastic happens.

He will also be stealing legit candies from the plastic bowls in the rooms, only to replace them with fake candies. There is a way to see they're fake, however: during glamour glitches, true candy will still look like candy. Ganondorf's candies however should look like film-fabrication. Unless something happens, nobody should know he's the one behind fake candies and he'll at the very least avoid tricking his allies from the evil alliance.

So if anyone wants to plot something with that, hit me up o/


Also, Ganondorf is gonna go look for candies, and on some of the more dangerous floors as well since he can deal with what dangers are thrown at them. He does it all alone, but if someone wants to stick with him for exploring a floor, he won't object to it as long as they're not an enemy and as long as they're respectful.

So again if some characters wanna collect candies with ganon, just tell me!

I'd be really surprised if Rick didn't find some of these fake candies with how thoroughly he'll be searching, so definitely opting in here! As for replacing the candy he's already gathered, he wouldn't notice unless he caught Ganondorf in the act--also possible by the last few days (or whenever Rick is no longer able to search), since he'll become paranoid enough that he'll just stay in his room and guard what he's gathered at that point. Is this something Ganon would try to do, or would he find less vigilant prey?

I think I should also bring your attention to this question I asked with regards to candy not being in the bowl.

As it might be quite hilarious for people to get more paranoid even though it appears they've got candy already.

I'll opt-in Sephiroth for the fake candies as well, as I'm terrible and it will be fun when he gets to the point of casually hunting to try and get rid of the distracting urges to find Candy. Though Ganon he's not going to be impressed if he finds out you're behind this!

Ryoji is going to be searching pretty much any floor where it'd be obvious where candies are hiding, or floors containing a lot of hiding spots, like the sauna floor with all its lockers. He's also willing to search with anyone he considers a friend, since he wants them to get as much candy as they can too. Once Ryoji realizes that they won't be able to find candies after they've searched a certain number of floors, he'll want to partner up even more so they can double the amount of floors they search.

I'm up for pretty much anything plotting wise, so let me know if you want to search with him or steal his candy or whatever!

Edit: AND NOW THINGS HAVE COMPLETELY CHANGED.

After losing a very important person and noticing chocolate roses on her grave, Ryoji will be retreating to his room on the 21st, and will not search during the 22nd and 23rd. He will end up feeling like everyone is avoiding him, and that they are whispering to each other that they do not want to talk to him. So if anyone wants to pull him out of his room and get him to start searching again, I would appreciate it?

If not I guess he'll just end up being left alone and will go through another day of being miserable. Which is cool too! XD

Zett is not participating in the event itself per se, but he is going to be fiercely guarding candy bowls. The trouble is two of the three people he would guard for are in the event (both his uncles are in and afaik Asako is't signed up or intending to) and their rooms are two floors away from each other.

So, basically, every two hours Zett is going to move from Lucifel's room (1-12) to Enoch's room (3-18). He will be doing this all through the day and the night - sleeping, who needs sleeping, he can go five days before starting to get ill effects anyway.

Anyone intending to steal candy from either of them should be warned that Zett is willing to at least severely wound for the offense, if not kill.

Enoch will gladly, uh. Sleep on top of his bowl if that will help. He's fairly heavy with all that muscle and being lifted/pushed will wake him.

V/V is searching! She's searching by herself on the first day, starting on the bottom floors (skipping any dangerous ones) and going to be moving her search areas up the tower gradually so she can try to get a wide range of candy.

She doesn't mind partnering up at all.

This is basically [OU] Sephiroth's complete opinion about this particular game upon first reading the note. Sure, to a certain extent he wonders if he really should go searching for Candy - he knows Ruana is the type to punish. But, this is clearly a battle of wills and he can't let himself be swayed that easily and it's about time Ruana knew that! It's not like he's not got other things to be distracting himself with - like more studying, working out, meditation, monster slaying - you know, things that require focus enough to mostly ignore that nagging feeling that he's forgetting to do something. Distracting himself from the distraction.

At least until the pressure from the increasing paranoia gets on. Paranoia eventually eats at your focus on other things and eventually he'll rather casually hunt for candy (later in the week, not sure which day yet I'm playing day by day) in the hope to free up the pressure and divert his attention back to other things, pointedly refusing to take part very much. Especially since only collecting a few candies and putting them in the bowl will lessen the intensity of the paranoia - he'll then just attempt to go back to his own activities.

That is unless anyone wants to attempt to persuade him beforehand that he should be listening to his urges & playing the game instead of suppressing urges that -he would argue- are not his own and just for the purpose of distraction.

The morning of the 21st, at about 6:30 AM (or whenever he wakes up), this feeling will intensify. Not only will there be the nagging feeling that he's forgetting to do something, and the slight compulsion to go join the people who are gathering candy, what are just normal looks from others will start to be interpreted as them snubbing him and refusing to give him the respect he deserves (moreso than usual).

Anyone want to plot something for this on 21st? Put yourself in the way of this?

Shion will start by collecting candies, he disliked last year and doesn't want to be put in a position to hurt anyone again.

But he will quickly get distracted by all the weirdness, the difference in perception (especially if he realises that the candy is real outside of glamour) and then go into science mode

then only collect the bare minimum and probably try and fight the urge to keep it all in the bucket

Oh Shion. Archer will probably notice that he started out collecting candy and then stopped, so he'll ask Shion why he stopped. Will Shion try to explain his reasoning for stopping?

Both Hidetoshi and Avenger aren't participating in the event. But Hidetoshi will be totally willing to help out and partner up with whose who are (as long as they're not hostile) to search for candy! The candy he cannot actually perceive, lmao. But he knows how this works, so he'll try hard to find some.

He wouldn't take anybody's candy, until towards the end of the event, where his sense of self-preservation will likely override that. Gonna have something for those shadow children to eat after all!

(He's going to get so many flashbacks guys.)

And Avenger will not be interested since he can't perceive the candy either. It's very likely he'll just be killed by shadow children at the end of the event or something tbh idk

Would Hidetoshi mind keeping an eye on his bowl sometimes - depending on how this all goes he might feel the need to go hunting candy while he's out during the evenings for monsters, and someone needs to watch the base?

Amelia's going to be searching floors she's familiar with and any nearby floors that don't seem immediately dangerous. She'd be happy to partner up with anyone she happens to run into, although she'll be claiming any candy she finds as her own. She will also snack on the candy throughout the search.

Since Veronica is a super tracker, she'll be going through the floors she knows, and even the dangerous ones, to find the candies.

Because she had heightened senses, she'll be able to track the candy's scent, and see things in dark places.

She won't try to steal from others, but she wont hesitate to protect her bowl either. She might help you if she knows you though.

Luke here is going to be checking for either easily visible candies or hiding places that are easier to get in and out of; he'll climb trees and other structures to look, for example, but won't risk life or limb to gather anything. He'll be all over the tower all six days--not searching every floor though--during the day mostly.

If he can, he'll be hoarding some or all of his candy in his mailbox.

He might steal a few candies if he sees the opportunity, but won't make it a habit, unless all of his candy disappears or something.

Iri will be sticking to the safer floors primarily and perhaps a few of the slightly dangerous floors if she is in the company of another person or feeling confident that her offensive magic can carry it's weight against anything she may encounter.

She will be placing all of the candy in a bowl beneath her bed, but will likely not try and defend it. This is primarily because she tends to put others before herself and if they truly need the candy, she sees no harm in letting others have it.

Naturally Xehanort is all over looking for candy because he wants to see what will happen... for the time being, at least. He's going to look quite hard all around, and as he really doesn't have much else to do he's going to spend most of the day looking, until he can't perceive candy anymore.

The first day is him playing nice with the event requirements, though he is going to mix it up and see what happens if he doesn't do this, or doesn't do that.

He'll try to protect his candy as well as he's able, as if he loses it how can he see what happens?

Generally speaking, Amelia's got no real inclination towards fighting the urge to go find candy so she's going to be putting in quite a bit of time on that while the candy's still around, and while the first floors she checks will probably be the ones she's more familiar with she'll probably check out a few dangerous floors too, especially if somebody tags along who she knows she can trust.

Likewise, if you'd like some assistance from a knight Amelia's more than willing to help others with the search as well! One of Ruana's games means sticking together is important, she feels.

Zuko is going to collect candy! He'll be telling himself it's because he wants to learn more about how the Tower operates, but he is Zuko, so if he starts getting deep into the paranoia he's going to get frantic and irritable, as well as maybe slightly burn-y depending on how bad it gets.

He does think the whole thing is silly when he's lucid, though.

Arturia is searching. She's also going to be giving away a lot of her candy despite the paranoia, until Zelda convinces her she should try to be selfish and save some for herself.

Would anyone else like to convince Arturia to keep candy for herself when she gives some of it away to others? Also, who would like to get candy from Arturia by the end of the week?

Enoch will be on his own for the first day, but, pending agreement from Ally, will be mostly sticking to Lucifel for the rest of the week, the two of them acting as a unit: splitting up to search a floor, pooling their results, and splitting them evenly.

Whether he is or isn't, he'd be happy to give candy to people who are struggling or trade candy if someone is so inclined (but why are you concerned about what types of candy you have - do you want to get rid of that eerie jelly eye?)

Also, he'd be happy to lend a hand to his roommate when the shadow children come trick-or-treating, considering it's convenient to find what you're looking for in the same room.

Also I'm sure he (and possibly Lucifel!) won't mind someone joining him for a little while. The more the merrier!

So, Asch is shortly going to be rolling in taffy and gummy fish, because he'll be repeating his trick from the first day

So on the last two days, when he stops finding new candy, he'll be taking to the dorms in the afternoons, plopped on the floor opposite the elevator with a sign, offering saltwater taffy and gummi fish to trade for other items - I'll probably be making an open post for that, but if your character would be interested in trading, please comment here!

Also partner-in-crime plotting for the rest of the week - he won't be revealing his taffy-and-fish stash to anyone, but the rest of the week is open! He'll be searching Dorm floors 4&5 (specifically the rooms) and the no-power floors in the 30s tomorrow [Day 2], to give you a starting point
