Collar Fluid Research Update

A breakthrough in the collar research happens this month: the fluid contents have been successfully separated out. Most of the compounds are used for various kinds of stabilization and cannot be removed from the mix without killing the subject. One, however, is of note: it nullifies the true abilities the characters have. It would be easy enough to create collar fluid compounds that do not have this drug--somewhat more difficult would be figuring out how to get it into the collars. Still, if managed, real abilities would slowly return.

Provided a way to replace the collar fluid can be discovered, the following rules and restrictions apply to returned abilities:

1. Upon receiving the new liquid, all powers will be nullified for one week. Real and glamour powers are completely inactive.
2. After one week, real abilities will slowly return. They will start out quite weak and will only return to full strength after one month, with a few exceptions.
3. Characters will not be able to access any abilities that involve traveling to a different dimension or universe. Characters cannot utilize any form of astral projection, or in general any abilities which require their soul to completely leave their body. This means some forms of possession are still not allowed, although others might be. Ask if you're not sure. Characters cannot teleport or otherwise "fast travel" into the administrative levels or through the elevator shafts. Characters cannot regain immortality or near-immortality.
4. Attempting to use extremely destructive, wide-range abilities will result in the Tower rendering the character unconscious. This would be along the lines of anything that would affect/ruin the entire Tower or a large portion of the Tower.
5. If a character dies or otherwise has their collar fluid replaced with normal collar fluid, they must repeat the process again to regain their real abilities.

As always, if you have any questions, you can ask under the thread!

So how does this work with collar check ups being mandatory now? It seems like replacing the fluid would be pointless with check ups every few weeks. Will the admin's ability to knock them unconscious be nullified with the fluid replacement?

Would powers still be nullified on particular floors and in the Administrative levels or is that limitation gone?

Just a few questions:

1/ Could the characters teleport into the sealed-off areas of the tower, beneath the administrative levels?

2/ Regarding real powers: would their real powers work more effectively on monsters and would they be able to challenge level ten monsters? Would the real powers allow them to challenge retrieval units? Also, would someone with the power to control monsters, be able to control and organize the monsters in the tower to an extent?

3/ Regarding possession: can retrieval units be possessed with the real powers?

4/ And finally, this time around: would miniaturizing himself and sneaking into a dead body carried by a retrieval unit work as a mean to reach the lower level, granted the miniaturization is done through true powers?

I'm pretty sure I can guess at the general answer, but just to be safe:

Would real powers have any influence on things that are presumably made of film? (Controlling mercury, water, etc.)

If so, are those abilities nerfed/limited and to what extent?

This probably won't apply, since Kariya hates his powers, but I'm curious, just in case. For Kariya's "real" abilities to be present, the worms inside him would have to be real. What happens to characters who rely on something secondary like that?

Will using this on the collar of a person apply to their demons and Pokemon and whatchallits?

If not, is there also a way to apply this to the demons and Pokemon and whatchacallits I'm missing?

How would real powers and film powers intersect?

Specifically: Asch, Luke, and Lorelei all have a shared telepathy network... Thing. If some of them are operating on real powers and others are operating on film, what would happen if they tried to contact each other?

Would powers that are a part of the character's physiology also be nullified? By which I mean--as a youkai, Nue is stronger, heals faster, has better senses, etc than a normal human. Would that all be gone along with her flight/danmaku/Seeds of Unknown Form?

I thought of another question! Gilles' power, as described in his abilities section, involves summoning monsters from another dimension, not creating them, so are his monsters real? (I'm assuming they're film at present.) Would they be real when summoned with his returned powers? And would they remain if his powers were then removed again?

So what about characters that couldn't really die before Animus? Ryoji could really only be killed by Minato before, but his near-immortality wasn't included with his powers. Can he still be killed now or would he be able to survive?

Oh and while I'm thinking on this, this shouldn't change control over powers, right? Or would having them stronger make them easier/harder to control?

So far, the glamour's mimicked Archer's usage of his gates and treasury only as far as allowing him to fire weapons. Would having his real powers returned affect that current restriction (allowing him access to other items, allowing things to exist outside of the gate longer than a handful of seconds)?

His treasury is pretty hax, so I can understand if things are restricted there.

Zelda and Ruler made a master-servant contract way back when. Would their connection gradually return with the rest of their powers, or since it's not a native ability would they need to re-contract?

Lancer and Assassin's Noble Phantasms operate on the basis of pulverizing their opponents' hearts. Would such a Noble Phantasm work on the bodies of other Tower inhabitants once they get their real powers back?

On that matter, how does this "other dimension" thing apply to Noble Phantasms? Though they're weapons, they can be counted as an innate ability, an extention of the Servant if you will. However, the Servant calls them into existence with their will, unless it's actually grafted onto the body like Zabaniya.

And Servants themselves are just souls given forms. Spirit form is probably not gonna get restored due to Tower logic?

Something like Xion's memory absorption would return, wouldn't it? Since when she asked Dax to nullify it he was really just nullifying that aspect of the glamour.

So one of Rick's power restrictions is that his Dinosaur form is limited to 8 feet tall. Is this something that would be restored with his abilities, or is that to do with the wire-frame glamour body and would be impossible to reverse?

Also--and I probably should've asked this with my application but I didn't know then orz--will Rick be able to obtain the souls of the glamour animals, like the fish in the beach or aquarium floors, or was that something he could only do with real creatures (as in the monsters)?

Okay so, the thing with OU!Riku is that he earned and/or learned about 75% of his current ability set in the tower and now I wonder:

- Would he still be able to summon his Keyblade (it was gained in a dream/heart struggle situation that came to be due Master Xehanort putting half the tower to sleep to go dream hopping, so I'm not sure if it was a glamour situation and idek everything is complicated?!)?
- EVEN MORE COMPLICATED, the battle that earned Riku his Keyblade also led to the remains of Ansem, SoD's Darkness within in him being sealed off from him, rendering Riku unable to use it and keeping it from overwhelming Riku. Would the fluid change undo that seal?
- Would he still know the magic/abilities he was taught by Terra or would he have to relearn them?

Also out of curiousity, how large is "large portion of the tower? Like, would KH spells like Quake, Meteor or Mega Flare that might cover half a floor at best already count as wide-ranged enough?

So how about those powers that Enoch has that depend on other people? Since Uriel and Methuselah are here but broken, are Overboost and Ceta still blocked or would Enoch be able to do something with them?

EDIT: Actually Ceta would probably still be blocked since it's (most likely) a chunk of Heaven. Question still stands about Overboost though!

When Diarmuid came into the Tower his 'love spot' curse was restricted because it takes control of a character away from their player (hence the need for the permission post etc). That is always something I played off to his powers being not real/being altered by the collar fluid. Since he is getting his real powers back now, what would be the most correct way for me to continue keeping a limitation on that? Would it be best to write it off as a limitation of the wireframe/gel body instead of an actual power limitation?

Or, horror of horrors, is the poor boy going to have to deal with the curse coming back full power along with the rest of his powers? (Limited by permission post, of course.)

Although I don't expect it to come up due to OOC shenanegans, I assume Lorelei's apped-in restrictions to his powers would still be in place? Not being able to leave physical form, not being able to use wide-scale hyperresonance, and so on.

This is probably a dumb question, but would a loss of powers include physical mutations as well? As in, would Amelia be a completely regular human for a week, or would her wings still be there and just not work?

Sorry for the belated follow up question!

Someone pointed out to me that the new fluid changeover will be mandatory after the first couple weeks, which means dealing with it regardless, so!

Right along, Lorelei generates Seventh Fonons, even if he's not doing anything with them. Until now they've all been glamour. Aside from the powerless first week, when he begins regaining his actual powers, will the real fonons he generates remain for other seventh fonon users (Tear, Asch, Van if he ever returns, etc) to use, if he dies and loses his powers again? Or do they suddenly vanish when he resets?
