Once decisions have been made, Zo climbs up into the crown of the machine. It whirls about, and for an instant, the heart of it opens, where Ruana's mummified corpse sits where it always has been, hidden away. There's a feeling like being pulled--those who are going with friends will be pulled in the same direction, but those parting ways will see the others fade away around them. There's a feeling like floating and then like falling countless miles or maybe countless years-- And then things are okay. You're where you wanted to be. The last imprint of Animus is that of an empty world being torn asunder by a crying child, before that child is finally put to sleep. And now you can go on with your lives, or start new ones.



Maybe a day passes. Maybe a week. Maybe a month. It doesn't matter how long, what matters is that you are, if even for just an instant, alone. A door appears. You can open it, if you want. You can step through it, too--to a Tower that floats in a void. It's only five rooms high, but if you want, you can build it higher with the tools on the bottommost floor. You can make it into whatever you want. And you can go wherever you want.

There's a note on a table on the highest floor--a room filled with countless doors, surrounded by every gift Zo has ever been given, even the last.

If you can see this, I did it! I managed to save a little bit of the Tower. You can do what you want with it, and this floor lets you move between worlds! It takes a little getting used to, but you can even think doors into existence. It might take some work getting each door to go where you want, but you guys can do it!

WHEN DID DAX TURN I NEED TO KNOW

Dax was created to be a character who was focused on efficiency and therefore would treat the characters in whatever way was most efficient to getting results. The intent was that the characters would resist him at every turn (we were sort of playing on the "players tend to be combatant toward NPCs" angle). When they didn't, though, that opened him up to getting attached to them because being polite and nice to them got the best results. Things snowballed from there!

What exactly caused Dax to turn? I have been sitting on this question for a year! What did we, the playerbase, do that dragged the plot so far outside your original expectations?

ok so when you say 'world-hopping' do you mean that they could go in and come back out into Mini-Tower? Or once they go in, they have to stay in?

They can go and come back out! They can also hop from one world to the next, but that would take a lot of practice. They will eventually have to return to the world they live in at least for a little while, but they can spend more time in other worlds than at home if they want.

If a character is carrying something with them from the Tower when they are sent back home/to another world, does that item just vanish?

Also, what will happen to any pets they had in the Tower?

Soooo...what happens if, as a result of the progression of things in their canon/AU, time itself in a character's universe is reset? Would the mini-tower let them escape that to exist in the new timeline or would they be faced with the choice of going back and ceasing to be along with the rest of their timeline or suffering whatever consequences happen when you don't go back to your own world every now and then?

Also, I think you once mentioned that there were endings where Jason could have lived. How would those have gone?

1. Okay so what *were* all of the lower floors of the Tower that we never got to see for?

2. This hasn't been asked ICly yet but it's going to be, Xion will want to take DJ/Dax's AI with her, will she be allowed to do so?

3. If the answer to the above is yes, and she were able to take him at some point to Space Paranoids/The Grid in KHverse would she be able to actually... get him out of the zip drive again/maybe even get him some kind of body? because hacking Xion can do, reverse engineering Tower technology to make a usb port capable of supporting Aria's futuristic usb not so much.

For characters who were dead when brought to the Tower and later dropped: would they have had the opportunity to say they wanted to continue living, or will their souls fade as their worlds are restored?

• So what was the deal with the shadows? Were they really the souls of the people from the character's home worlds? Or were they some sort of hallucination the souls inside the characters caused?


• Was there any ending that would have saved Ruana and her world or was that always meant to be?


• How did the crossover with Destiny Strings happen ICly?


• Why did the monsters disappear at the end?


• How did their souls get hooked up to the wireframe? What was the full process there and why did people start remembering and have awful affects happen?


• What's the history behind the wireframes and the glamour? What were the scientists using them for?


• When characters volunteered for Riki's soul energy extract process, did that kill part of the character's universe?


• What did Zo do for fun in his spare time?


• And just because I haven't seen it yet. SPACE WHALE. Where did it come from and why did it crash into the Toewr? (Are there more roaming around the multiverse?)

Thank you for modding. It has been an awesome, terrifying game. I joined on practically a whim over three years ago and here I am writing on the ending post.

This game has made me cry, made me so scared, and made me smile so much. I have written things I never would have before joining and I can only thank you a million times for giving me plenty of fodder for torturing my poor characters.

I know you have had a lot of slack for endgame but in the end, it ended and it was good. It had flaws, which I know you know very well but I can only applaud you for continuing through burnout and exhaustion and finally bringing this game to a close.

I feel like I am making a toast *raises teacup*. Just thank you, for your time, for your writing, for unleashing your imaginations on us and letting us play in the dark world you created. Thanks for the NPCs, the plots, the storyline. I have never played in a game that has reached completion before and I doubt I will ever get to play a game from day one to day end again. But I am glad I did, and I am glad it was this one.

I just wanted you guys to know that your effort is very much appreciated, and if and when you open a new game in future I will be most likely be there!
